We are a 200 year old Bed and Breakfast on the sea front at Weymouth. We are trying to make our Georgian home accessible to as many people as is possible.
Below are details of the provisions we are able to make. Please call us if you have any specific questions and we will be happy to help.
Before and after your booking

Transport around the guest house
The railway station is round the corner from us. It is a level walk of about 300mtres.
The coaches into Weymouth stop over the road from us about 200mtres away.
There are local taxi firms which we can book for you or let you have their card.
Arrival and parking
We are very happy to help people who have extra needs with their luggage either at the door or if you telephone us in advance we can meet you at the coach or train. We will also return your luggage to the coach or train at the end of your stay with us.
There are 5 wide steps from the pavement to the front door with handrails either side. Guests have a key which opens both front doors at all times thereby giving free access.
Parking at ‘The Channel ‘is either on street or in a local car park which is about 5 minutes walk away. Guests can off load their luggage before parking their car. We have a number of parking permits for both. These are available on a first come first served basis.
The town centre is a few minutes level walk from us as is the harbour.
Our check in is between 12.00hrs and 14.00hrs. However please ring if you are arriving outside of these times and we will be happy to discuss your arrival time.
Public Areas
As soon as you enter the house the reception, guest lounge and breakfast room are on you left hand side. The furniture is flexible and can be moved on request. There is room in the guest lounge for the storage of pushchairs and small wheelchairs. The corridors and stairs are well lit and wide. The flooring is short pile carpet except in the en suites where linoleum is laid.
There is a small WC along the corridor from the reception down 3 steps with a handrail.
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room. Menus can be produced in large print upon request. We do not play background music in any part of the house. However we do have the television playing the news during breakfast.
Accessible Bedrooms
On the ground floor we have 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 single bedroom. The single bedroom is down 3 steps from the front door and has a shower cubicle. The other ground floor bedrooms are beyond this and are up 6 more steps and have a bath with shower over.
In order to help our guests we have a rubber bath mat, a frame for round the toilet and a raised toilet seat available on request.
All of our bedrooms have flat screen televisions with teletext.
Additional Information
We have a modern fire alarm system with an emergency lighting system throughout the house. We also have an evacuation plan in case of fire or other incident. We are able to evacuate through the back and front doors.
We have a piece of equipment called a deafgard which is put under the pillow to awaken someone who is hard of hearing in the event of a fire. This is available on request. To minimise the risk and to comply with the law we are a completely non smoking establishment.
Mobile phone reception is generally alright in the bedrooms but is poor in the breakfast room and lounge where we ask that people switch them off for every ones comfort.
Assistance dogs are always welcome.
We are happy to store medication/food in our fridges although this is a limited time service.
We are happy to help with the hire of equipment be it wheel chairs or aids or bicycles etc. We will also take delivery of the same if advised in advance.
Shops, restaurants, laundry facilities are all only a short level walk from the house.
